Born mute, unable to talk due to undeveloped vocal cords. She was a bright child though silent, growing up in a vault she had alot of luxuries that others in the wastelands did not, including something of a formal education, until the age of 10 when her family packed their few belongings and left their home to travel to another vault. The family was attacked and set upon by raiders, the little girl managed to find cover in a old sewage drain and stayed hidden and silent till the raiders, having killed her mother and father and looting anything of value had left.
She made her way to the nearest camp, stayed a while, then ventured back out into the wastes, she would stay gone days at a time, no one knew what she was doing, nor did they ask, not for a lack of curiosity, more a lack of caring about the welfare of anyone other than themselves, such is the way out here. Some of this time was spent digging shallow graves for her mother and father, the rest of the time was exploration. Though the wastelands are harsh, children are both curious and resilient, after all what doesn't kill you.....clearly didn't try hard enough.
Eventually started to run and deliver packages, from one place to another, having learned to navigate by stars, she does alot of her traveling at night, when most others seek shelter. Reene is a great keeper of secrets since she can't speak, this has helped her to acquire some interesting and high paying jobs. She spends her free time marking and mapping abandoned vaults she comes across, selling their locations to scavengers.
